There are three main components in my HTPC setup.

1) 40'' Samsung LCD TV
2) Media Center PC
3) Yamaha YSP-800 5.1 speaker system

And what I claim is that those three dudes, when connected with the right software, can satisfy all the obvious needs that might arise in a typical home theatre setup, and can even exceed







Digital TV set-top-box (It'll embed it inside Media PC, I'll use FloppyDTV digital tuner with Media Portal for that, then it fully supports WK2006 HD broadcasts)

60 GB Ipod Video (MCE video recordings are directly transformed and sync with the Ipod)



Gigaset cordless phone with M34 USB PC Adapter (Skype account is open at media PC, I receive Skype calls directly to my cordless land line phone. I can either Skype Out or SIP out call from my land phone as well, all my VOIP needs are satisfied by this setup. Media PC can stay in stand-by mode )

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 gamepad (Pinnacle gamepad profiler makes it compatible with any existing game)

Wireless keyboard and mouse

Sony DCR-TRV19 camcorder (USB streaming feature is for Skype video, and for simple home surveillance, I haven't added X10 home automation staff yet)
